RootLinks partner S.Pro (Sustainable Projects) joined the 2nd EU Algae Awareness Summit on 16–17 October 2025 in Berlin.

Organized by EU4Algae with the European Commission, the Summit brought together experts, producers, and policymakers to discuss Europe’s growing algae sector.

During the event, which took place at the Axica Conference Centre, Konstantinos Madias, Communications Manager at s.Pro – sustainable projects GmbH, had the opportunity to share insights from the RootLinks project and engage with a wide range of stakeholders from across the blue bioeconomy.

“We had the opportunity to engage with many primary producers in the algae sector. The presentations, policy discussions, networking opportunities, and the exhibition space where many algae producers showcased their work allowed us to exchange information about the RootLinks project and particularly in relation to the Blue Sector Working Group,” explains Konstantinos. “Events like these are an excellent platform to build connections, raise awareness, and further integrate algae producers into Europe’s circular bioeconomy.”

The Summit offered participants the chance to explore real-life success stories from across the algae sector, take part in round tables and interactive sessions, and discover innovative algae products showcased in the exhibition area.
Through S.Pro’s participation in events like this, RootLinks continues to strengthen collaboration across the blue sector, promoting sustainable and circular solutions throughout Europe.
