The upcoming global summit in Vienna focuses on advancing sustainable forest-based bioeconomy approaches.

RootLinks is pleased to share an opportunity for those in our community working on forest-based solutions, circular bioeconomy, sustainable land use, and agroforestry.

Austria will host the Country-Led Initiative on Advancing Sustainable Forest-based Bioeconomy Approaches (CLI-ASFBA) as a Global Summit in Vienna in February 2026. Convened within the broader COLI process supporting the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF) and the FAO, this event will bring together stakeholders from across the globe to explore how sustainable forest-based bioeconomy approaches can scale, including through financing, supply chains, agroforestry, and timber construction.

The outcomes of the Summit will contribute to upcoming discussions at UNFF21 and the FAO’s 28th Committee on Forestry (COFO28).

If you are interested in participating, please note that preliminary registration closes on 30 December 2025. Formal confirmation will follow in due time.
