Are you an SME or startup developing biosolutions with the ambition to achieve net‑zero production? BIONetZero offers up to €60,000 to support innovations in the agrifood and energy‑intensive sectors.

The BIONetZero project has officially launched its first Open Call, providing direct financial support to European SMEs and startups developing innovative biosolutions for the agrifood sector and energy‑intensive industries.

The open call is designed to accelerate the testing, validation, scale‑up and market readiness of promising pre‑commercial technologies, while also supporting international expansion and ecosystem building.

Selected companies can receive up to €60,000 in total funding through a combination of the following grants:

  • € 3,500 Travel Grant to kick off your BIONetZero journey at a networking event in Denmark (September 2026)
  • € 15,000 Tech Grant for testing, prototyping & validation (TRL 4–6)
  • € 40,000 Implementation Grant for scale-up & market readiness (TRL 7–8)
  • € 5,000 Internationalisation Booster to explore high-growth markets outside the EU

Who Can Apply?

The call is open to European SMEs, including those from EEA and associated countries, that are developing pre‑commercial biosolutions in these sectors:

  • Agriculture
  • Food
  • Energy‑intensive

The application process is simple and lightweight, taking approximately 30 minutes to complete.
