Knowledge sharing & matchmaking

Action 2

Blue biomass knowledge sharing and matchmaking activities

We provide direct, facilitated matchmaking and knowledgeexchange activities that connect primary producers (PPs) in aquaculture and fisheries with industry actors, advisors, researchers, clusters and regional authorities. Through dedicated matchmaking events, PPs explore collaboration opportunities, biomassvalorisation pathways, and entry points to innovation activities and markets, building on insights generated through other Aquanauts actions.

By improving visibility of actors, biomass flows and collaboration opportunities, we support stronger integration of PPs into circular and innovationdriven value chains. Matchmaking events serve as the core implementation mechanism, bringing together relevant actors to discuss concrete cooperation opportunities and clarify biomass utilisation pathways. Where appropriate, results are made available through the BlueBioMatch platform, hosting stakeholders and biomass information, dashboards, and mapping outputs generated through the matchmaking process.

We operate at local, regional, national and European levels, with exchanges between widening and nonwidening countries actively encouraged. In the short term, we strengthen connections and visibility for collaboration opportunities; in the longer term, we contribute to more resilient and better integrated blue biomass value chains, supporting sustained cooperation and improved positioning of PPs within circular biobased markets.
