Join the next RootLinks online workshop to explore the BlueBioClusters Value Chain Facilitation Tool and learn how to map blue bioeconomy value chains, identify gaps and opportunities, and apply impact analysis with stakeholders across different biomass sectors.

RootLinks is hosting a hands-on online workshop on Blue Value Chain Mapping on 10 November from 10:00 to 12:30 CET, offering participants the opportunity to explore and apply the BlueBioClusters Value Chain Facilitation Tool.

Designed for blue bioeconomy stakeholders, the workshop will introduce a visual, Miro-based methodology that supports the mapping of value chains, the identification of gaps and opportunities, and the assessment of economic, ecological, social, and regulatory impacts. The tool was developed within the BlueBioClusters project to help stakeholders better understand and strengthen blue bioeconomy value chains through collaborative analysis and discussion.

During the session, participants will first be introduced to the structure and functionality of the facilitation tool and its five modules. They will then work in facilitated breakout groups focused on different biomass sectors, including fish, bivalves, microalgae and macroalgae, using the tool to map value chains and apply an impact lens to their analysis.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how the BlueBioClusters Value Chain Facilitation Tool and its modules work.
  • Map a value chain within a selected biomass sector and identify key gaps and opportunities.
  • Apply impact categories to analyse value chain performance and challenges.
  • Facilitate the first stages of the methodology within their own organisations or networks.

Participants will also receive the facilitation guide, enabling them to use the methodology independently in future stakeholder workshops.

The session will feature contributions from Simona Paolacci (AquaBioTech Group) and Mariana Pauperio (BlueBioAlliance).
