Supporting women’s leadership and advancing sustainable aquaculture across the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions.
The fourth edition of the regional training on sustainable aquaculture practices for young women is organised through a collaboration between the FAO General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) and FEAP, the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers.
This three day training will take place on 19–21 January 2026 and offers a unique opportunity for young women professionals to strengthen their skills, expand their networks and engage directly with best practices in sustainable aquaculture. The programme will combine field visits led by regional aquaculture experts, interactive workshops and an idea lab, creating a hands on learning environment rooted in real world experience.
The training aims to build a strong foundation of sustainable aquaculture practices, highlight the importance of women’s involvement in the sector, share success stories from across the region and showcase the GFCM approach to the sustainable development of aquaculture.
The event is organised with the support of EİB, Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri, Aegean Exporters’ Associations, and will actively involve NOWA, the Network of Women in Aquaculture, contributing its expertise in networking and capacity building.
Registration is open, with participants selected based on curriculum and expertise to ensure a diverse and knowledgeable group.
Deadline for registration: 20 December 2025.
