Join RootLinks at the European Maritime Day (EMD) 2026 Conference, taking place in Cyprus on 21–22 May 2026, for a dedicated workshop hosted by SPro (sustainable projects) and ABT (AquaBioTech Group), advancing Europe’s Vision 2040 for sustainable fisheries and aquaculture.

The workshop, Vision 2040: Transitioning Fisheries & Aquaculture (WS08), will be held on Thursday, 21 May 2026, from 16:40 to 17:55, as part of the parallel workshops track focused on food security and the sustainable blue economy.

Structured as a panel discussion, the session will be moderated by Simona Paolacci (Head of RDI, AquaBioTech Group) and will feature expert contributions from

  • David Basset (Chair, RootLinks WGPP & EATIP Secretariat)
  • Unn Laksa (MeCCAM Project Coordinator)
  • Evi Lardi (Policy Officer, DG MARE).

The workshop will explore climate adaptation strategies, innovation, circular economy approaches, and producer empowerment to advance actionable recommendations aligned with the EU Ocean Pact and the Vision 2040 for resilient fisheries and aquaculture.
